In some ways I don’t know if it has really sunk in that I’m in Europe. It has now officially been two weeks, which is nuts to think about. I’m having a lot of fun and seeing a lot of stuff, I just worry that I won’t be fully in the moment for this trip until I’m just about heading home.

Today was a lot of fun. Heidi and I walked to the Prado, about ten minutes from our hostel, and split up there. I saw a lot of interesting paintings, especially in a room dedicated mostly to El Bosco, Bosch in english. I would take pictures but a google image search will do you much better. His imagination and fantastical landscapes are something to behold. Also amazing was their collection of El Greco’s paintings. Such vivid colors and moving imagery.

Afterwards I went wandering. I decided that, since I have found high up places to take in most of the cities we’ve visited I would go on a mission where my only choice of direction was “uphill.” I ended up totally lost, and I’m pretty sure I passed the same window featuring a huge amount of patates frites, like chips, three times.

We leave Madrid tomorrow morning, it is a pretty cool city, but I don’t know if it tops my list. I’m really excited to see Cordoba, which is where we head tomorrow.
